3 Day Detox Diet

The 3 day detox diet is one I learned from a wholistic nutritionist in the late 1990’s. It proved very helpful in cleaning my body out of toxins.



It’s short, so you can plan to do it over a long weekend.
It’s inexpensive, as you only have to purchase a few groceries.
it’s simple to follow.


The downside----no eating for 3 days and having to be VERY close to the water closet.

Supplies You Need for the 3 Day Detox Diet:

  • 54 ounces (approx 2 quarts) prune juice.
  • 9 ounces extra virgin olive oil or as Rachel Ray would say EVOO
  • 3 Gallons selected cleaning juice (apple, carrot, citrus, grape, etc.)
  • 3 Gallons distilled water.
  • What the basic program looks like
    Prune Juice – 16 or more ounces upon rising in the morning.
    Olive Oil: One or two tablespoons three times per day.
    Cleaning Juice and Water: 8 ounces of fluid every 30 minutes alternating 8 ounces of juice and 8 ounces of water.




    Suggested Time Schedule You will be drinking alot of liquids as you are taking 8 ounces of liquid in every 1/2 hour. Here is what is looks like: (Download 3 Day Detox Tracker)
    7:30 am – 16 ounces prune juice and 1-2 Tablespoons olive oil
    8:00 am – 8 ounces or more of cleaning juice
    8:30am – 8 ounces or more distilled water
    9:00am – 8 ounces or more of cleaning juice

    Continue alternating juice and water every half hour until noon.

    12:00 pm – 8 ounces or more of prune juice and 1-2 Tablespoons of olive oil.
    Continue alternating juice and water every half hour until 5pm.
    5:00pm - 8 ounces or more of prune juice and 1-2 Tablespoons of olive oil.
    Continue alternating juice and water until early evening.
    8:00 pm – 8 ounces of water every hour until retiring.

    Be ready - you will be in the bathroom A LOT but what better way to get cleaned out. :)
