Characteristics for Autism

Characteristics for autism are many. A high functioning person with autism may have fewer characteristics then another.

According to the Mayo Clinic, autism is a brain disorder that is associated with a range of developmental problems, mainly in communication and social interaction. Also, according to the Mayo clinic, there is no cure for autism.

However, according to my research and resources, you can certainly give the body what is needs, take away what it doesn�t and see how the body can cure itself.

Characteristics may include:

delayed speech or loss of acquired speech
lack of eye contact
impaired or non-present social skills
shyness
repetitive behavior
delayed gross or fine motor skills
may be unusually sensitive to light, sound and touch
not responding to one's name
quick, involuntary muscle jerks
resists cuddling and holding
develops specific routines or rituals
Performs repetitive movements, such as rocking, spinning or hand-flapping
develops specific routines or rituals
becomes disturbed at the slightest change in routines or rituals
moves constantly
may be fascinated by parts of an object, such as the spinning wheels of a toy car
seizures
inflexibility with transitions
often unexplained, significant mood changes
food allergies and eczema,
constipation and diarrhea
yeast overgrowth
high levels of toxins in the body
immune system disfunction
sleep disturbances
auditory and visual hallucinations

Not everyone has every characteristic and not to the same severity. This is here to give you an idea of some of the characteristics for autism.
