The Master Cleanse

This cleansing program is also know as the "Lemonade" diet or cleanse. It is tasty and for maximum effectiveness requires you to not eat during the process.
Purpose:
- To dissolve, clean and eliminate toxins and congestion that have formed in any part of the body including your colon.
- To clean the kidneys and the digestive system.
- To purify the glands and cells throughout the entire body.
- To eliminate all unusable waste and hardened material in the joints and muscles.
- To relieve pressure and irritation in the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels.
- To build a healthy blood stream.
- To keep youth and elasticity regardless of our years.
- To purify mind, thoughts and to get in touch with your spirit.
When to Use It?
- When sickness has developed—for all acute and chronic conditions.
- When the digestive system needs a rest and a cleansing.
- When overweight has become a problem.
- When better assimilation and building of body tissue is needed.
- When you need to make an important decision.
- When you need to have clear mind and clear thoughts.
- When you feel like fasting.
How Often? Follow the diet for a minimum of 10 days or more—up to 40 days and beyond may be safely followed for extremely serious cases. The diet has all the nutrition needed during this time. Three to four times a year will do wonders for keeping the body in a normal healthy conditions. The diet may be undertaken more frequently for serious conditions.
How to Make It? Ingredients:- 2 Tablespoons lemon or lime juice (approx. ˝ lemon)
- 2 Tablespoons genuine maple syrup Grade B or C (Not maple flavored sugar syrup)
- 1/10 Teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper) or to taste (see my personal notes on cayenne.
- Water(medium hot)
Directions:Combine the juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a 10 ounce glass and fill with medium hot water. (Cold water may be used if preferred.)Use fresh (organic) lemons or limes only, never canned lemon or lime juice nor frozen lemonade or frozen juice. You must also do something for your bowel movements. Fasting on liquids will, in most people, promote stagnation of feces in the large intestine. (you will lose the need to move bowel.) One thing suggested is salt water flush.
Salt Water Flush
- 1 quart (1 Liter) Water - boil to tea drinking temperature
- 2 Level TEASPOONS natural, unrefined Sea Salt(no additives. Fine or powder sea salt work best, you can use it for food prep also)
- Juice from a Lime/Lemon - if required to offset the taste
- 16oz (1/2 Liter) Serving Cup
- Alarm Clock - set to sunrise
Salt from a natural source (like natural unrefined sea salt) is better for cleaning the body than refined and iodized salt. Natural unrefined Sea salt (without harmful additives) is the best choice. This is a traditional Ayurveda intestinal and body cleanse.
Prior to Cleanse If you have problems with constipation, please clean your bowels with a safe herbal laxative (i.e. senna or garcinia) or with enema/colonics, for one or three days before this cleanse. Make sure your bowels are moving!
Personal note: I have experienced this cleanse several times. My longest was 12 days and my shortest was 1 day. On the twelve day cleanse I really only felt bad on day one. After that I did feel hungry (unlike it says in the resource book) but I did not feel like I was starving. If I felt hungry I would just keep sipping my “Lemonade”. I would make 10 glasses worth at the beginning of the day and use it throughout. I did have a lot of energy with this natural cleanse and was about one pound lighter for every day on the program. I only regained about 2 pounds when I resumed my normal diet. I did the salt water cleanse /flush. Since I do not have a constipation problem, I did do the first one as directed. After the first flush I did it every other day at half strength. You have to decide what is right for you. It is very important that you get the toxins out of your body. Also, there was no way I was going to add cayenne to the drink. I would not have lasted one drink worth. So I bought capsules and took the capsules throughout the day for a total of 4-6 capsules each day. One day I took two capsules at once and got very nauseous..too much, too fast. Take it slow and easy.
Cleansing Response If you are getting headaches or any other types of symptoms such as moodiness, flu like symptoms, this is your body’s way of releasing also know as a cleansing response. Drink more water and if necessary use natural herbal remedies to help you through. It is also useful to take a detox bath at least twice a week while on this cleanse. And practice dry skin brushing.
