Sea Salt
by Jodie
I bought Redmond Real Salt - All Natural Sea Salt. But further down it also says, Unrefined sea salt mined from ancient sea bed - Contains 50+ trace minerals, including iodine. This isn't the salt I should be using is it. I'm confused on the non iodized and contains iodine...
Terri's Answer: Jodie, that is a great question as it can be confusing. Regular Table Salt is stripped of trace minerals and iodine is added back into the salt. You basically have sodium chloride in it.
The reason sea salt is much better (especially
Himalayan Pink Salt) is that it contains the natural iodine as well as numerous trace minerals that are needed and used by our bodies.
Having all of these trace minerals in your salt keeps the balance that nature intended and is healthier for your body. Some believe that iodized table salt is toxic because it does not have a natural balance.
