My Master Cleanse Story
This is the third time I have been on the Master Cleanse. The first time for 5 days, the second time for 12 days and now this time. I am doing it to clean out, get my system more alkaline and experience the side effect of weight loss. My blood pressure has started to creep up and my cholesterol is high as well as my weight. I am wanting to go until the end of October but will take one day at a time. I have been planning it for a couple of weeks so I am ready to do it. I wanted to share with you my thoughts and what is happening while I am on it.
I started the Master Cleanse today. Since it was the first day of school for my kids. I did have some breakfast as I had to run out and get lemons so I could get going. So I started around 9:30am. Had about 20 ounces of the lemonade left at the end of the day. As usual for me I am taking the cayenne in capsules instead of in the drink.
Measured myself but didn't weigh as I don't have a scale. Last time I weighed I was 180 but I think I am closer to 185 now. I will have to stop somewhere and weigh this week. My last cholesterol reading was 267 a few months ago and my blood pressure reading was 138/86 last week.
Headachy this morning so did a salt water flush and that seemed to help. The salt water flush
is so cool, its so easy and much quicker than a laxative tea. VERY hungry this morning.
Got to run out and get some more lemons. I can buy a whole case at a local fruit market a much better deal than the grocery store.
I also ordered some himalayan sea salt
to do a cleansing bath. The bath with the himalayan sea salt is supposed to be equivalent to a 3 day cleanse.
Did some dry skin brushing
today, help with circulation and move the cleanse along.
I have been
feeling great since Thursday evening. The lemonade is not as tasty as it was the first day so since Friday, I have a cup of broth to break up the monotony. Although the Master Cleanser book says you won't be hungry after the first few days, I am totally hungry but not weak or lightheaded or anything like that. My husband, Richard, started the cleanse with me today. His stomach is growling loudly. I have been doing some sort of exercise the last few days whether it be riding a bike or going for a walk.
Well this is day 7, so far so good as far as how I am feeling. Still hungry but the food will always be there. I am doing this for my health. I keep having to remind myself that this is important to my health and well-being. The last couple of nights, I just want to go to bed early so I don't have to drink anymore of the drink.
Ok its day 10, the suggested amount of days to stay on the master cleanse and I am done, I started off eating a green pepper and a banana in the afternoon. I wish I would have stayed on longer but there has been so much going on, I just did not have the will to continue.
I am still very pleased with my results. I lost over two inches from my waist and feel better. I still don't have a scale so can't tell you how much weight I lost. For me it doesn't matter since the inches came off. As for my blood pressure, it did scoot down to 115/79! And I haven't had a chance to get my cholesterol checked.
Since I went off the Master Cleanse and started eating again, I don't feel near as good as I did while on the cleanse. So what makes it so difficult to stay on it? I don't know but I do know that taking it one day at a time is the key for me.
Best wishes to any of you out there that take this step to a healthier life.
